ALWAGHT- Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed Izvestia newspaper that Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet with Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian during the BRICS summit in Kazan this October.
Iran officially joined BRICS on January 1, 2024, and ongoing cooperation between Moscow and Tehran is anticipated following Pezeshkian's formal inauguration. He has already received an invitation from Moscow to attend the BRICS summit in Kazan.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed, "The Iranian side has received a valid invitation, and we are hopeful that the new president will attend the summit. We look forward to his presence, and President Putin is preparing for this upcoming meeting."
On July 8, Putin and Pezeshkian spoke by phone, with the Russian president congratulating his Iranian counterpart on his election victory.
