ALWAGHT- On Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received the endorsement of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, before assuming office as the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei officially authorized Masoud Pezeshkian to take office during a ceremony at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in Tehran, attended by senior Iranian and foreign officials.
During the event, Pezeshkian received his validation edict from the Leader and was officially confirmed in office for four years.
Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi briefed the participants on the measures taken to conduct the nationwide presidential elections.
Following this, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani, head of the Leader’s office, read the text of the endorsement decree, after which the president-elect outlined his general plans for running the executive branch of power.
The endorsement ceremony will be followed by a public inauguration on July 30 in the Iranian Parliament, where Pezeshkian will take his public oath of office in front of Iranian lawmakers and foreign dignitaries from dozens of countries.
