Iran-UAE Sign Air Transport Services Agreement

Alwaght- Iran and the UAE reached an agreement to cooperate in air transport services during Iranian FM’s visit to the Arab country.

The deal was reached via the civil aviation authorities of the UAE and Iran, the UAE news agency WAM reported on Thursday.

The agreement was signed in Dubai during an official state visit by Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the report added.

The provisions of the agreement are intended to allow the national air carriers of Iran and the UAE to provide more services to their passengers and open new routes, as per the signed document.

During his visit, Amir-Abdollahian met with the UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two sides discussed several matters related to bilateral, regional, and global developments. The two had previously met in Cape Town, South Africa, on June 2, to discuss matters pertaining to the economy, trade, and consular issues, among other matters of mutual concern, Iranian news agency Fars reported.

The Iranian top diplomat also met with the UAE's President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who issued a formal invitation to President Ebrahim Raisi to visit the UAE after Amir-Abdollahian offered Mohamed bin Zayed to visit Tehran.

Both parties discussed several matters of mutual interest and agreed to outline a cooperative plan to strengthen economic cooperation.

Amir-Abdollahian's visit comes as part of a tour across several countries in the Persian Gulf region after Iran- Saudi reconciliation in March.
