Alwaght- Only two days after the large-scale military parade of Yemen's Ansarullah on the west coast during which the newest military equipment for naval battle were unveiled, the move seems to have left its impacts on the Saudis sooner than expected, making them resort to a campaign of anti-Iranian accusations.
On Saturday, Saudi envoy to the UN Abdulaziz al-Wasel at a conference of the 'threats against the international peace and security' hosted by the UN addressed Yemen developments. Al-Wasel, once again accusing Iran of supporting Ansarullah, claimed that without Tehran's support, the Yemeni movement cannot make modern arms and drones. The envoy added that in recent years, Ansarullah has used more than 900 drones and 450 missiles against the aggression coalition at all sea, land and air levels. Repeating the threadbare claim that the reports of the UN and the Security Council confirm Iran's support to the retaliatory Yemen military operations, the Saudi envoy suggested that this action is a violation of international laws.
Such claim by the Saudis in the eighth year of war is even more scandalous than defeat in a war they waged against Yemen with their own hands.
At the beginning of the war, Riyadh leaders thought that they could occupy Yemen in a short period of time and force the government led by Ansarullah to accept defeat and did not believe that this crisis would last for eight years and likely longer, and they did not have the foresight that the Yemenis can move towards making weapons and providing defense needs at home— the same weapons that have become are a bone in the throat of the Saudi and Emirati enemies and grabbed calm from their leaders.
Riyadh not willing to face the fact about Ansarullah defense capabilities
The claims by the Saudis that Iran provided Yemen with the weapons they need to strike Saudi Arabia and the UAE come as everyone knows that the heavily impoverished Arab country was under all-out siege since day one of the war and even the routes of humanitarian aids to it are shut.
Even the US and Britain are assisting the Saudis to hold tight the blockade and the smallest moves in the air, sea, and ground are watched. Therefore, with these tight military measures, even the Saudi public do not buy Riyadh's anti-Iranian allegations. Actually, these claims are made to tell the international community that if Tehran stops backing to the Yemenis, all the challenges will be settle and that Iran, not Saudi Arabia and the UAE, are the one to mainly blame for the crisis.
The Saudis do not want to believe that the Yemenis have made defense breakthroughs under the toughest conditions and with the least equipment. It is disgrace for the Saudi-led Arab coalition to make no gains against the Yemenis' strong resolve while armed with the most modern and expensive Western weapons.
Threadbare scenario
The allegations about Iran delivering arms to Yemen follow earlier similar claims by the former US government officials who put to show debris of Yemen missiles that landed in Saudi Arabia and claimed they were Iran-made in a move to provoke international pressures against Tehran. But even the UN experts did not buy the claims and insisted they cannot confirm their veracity.
This ragged Saudi scenario can be investigated from another aspect. Although the Arab sheikhdoms made huge fortunes from oil sales, so far they have not managed to domesticize the smallest parts of their old-generation weapons and are angry to see Ansarullah making military breakthroughs with empty hands. In other words, they want to justify their incapability by claiming that Yemen cannot make its own weapons.
From another perspective, the American military relations with Arab countries is based on selling more weapons and emptying the Arab pockets from the petrodollars. But the branches of the Axis of Resistance synergize their military capabilities and develop new technologies for missiles and drones for self-sufficiency. Gaza-based resistance groups are a glaring example of how they managed to gain self-sufficiency amid a tight Israeli blockade since 2007. They developed their arsenal of missiles to a degree the Israeli regime does not dare to wage a new war against them.
The massive Yemeni blockade by the Saudi aggression coalition is a total failure and Ansarullah is adding to its strength day by day. As the movement's leaders warned, should Saudi Arabia violate the ceasefire, they future operations will broader and more painful. Recently, some weapons have been made in Yemen that are game-changing on the battlegrounds, Ansarullah leaders assert.
As a conclusion, the Saudi allegations against Tehran and painting it a culprit in Yemen war are meant to garner international sympathy with Riyadh as the Saudi rules are sure if the ceasefire collapses, powerful Ansarullah missile will rain down on them afresh and can damage the kingdom's infrastructure. With the promises of response the Yemeni leaders made, the day is not that far.
