Russian Air Force Hits Major ISIS Installations in Syria
Alwaght- Russian warplanes in Syria have bombed field camps and other facilities of the ISIS terrorist groups in the ongoing aerial operations.
“Our aviation group over the past day has destroyed two militant command centers, 29 field camps, 23 fortified facilities and several troop positions with military hardware,” Russian defense ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Saturday.
The Russian Air Force conducted 64 sorties and hit a total of 55 targets on Friday, he said.
He added that the Russian effort has “considerably degraded” the strength of the terrorist forces in Syria.
“During the initial phase of the operation, our warplanes have destroyed the biggest and most important supply hubs of ISIS,” Konashenkov said adding that this resulted in the “mobility and offensive capability” of the terrorists being reduced.
Konashenkov said that the increasing number of combat missions conducted by Russia in Syria is explained by the large number of potential targets identified and confirmed as viable by space and aerial reconnaissance.
He added that Russian Aerospace Force’s strikes destroyed ISIS major technical, logistic support objects as well as a fortified area equipped with firing points, mortar emplacements and ammunition depots.
Konashenkov pointed out that the strikes were conducted by Su-34, Su-24M and Su-25SM aircraft, adding that the Russian airstrikes in Syria have significantly reduced ISIS’s combat potential, their mobility as well as offensive ability.
Since 30th September, the Russian Air Force has carried out air strikes as part of the agreement between Syria and Russia to combat terrorism and eliminate ISIS terrorist group.
Over the past few days, Russian airstrikes left 300 terrorists dead in Aleppo, Raqqa, Hama, Idleb and Lattakia and destroyed 60 ISIS terrorists installations.
