According to al-Mayadeen Arabic TV, the explosion occured near the al-Nour mosque in the al-Nahda neighborhood of Sanaa on Tuesday.
Yemen's Ansarullah movement has confirmed that at least seven people were killed.
ISIS terrorists have attacked mosques several times in Yemen leaving dozens dead and many more injured. On September 24th ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing in the capital Sanaa that killed at least 29 people attending Eid al Adha prayers at al-Balili Mosque in al-Safia neighborhood. Early September at least 32 civilian worshipers were killed as twin suicide bombings, claimed by the ISIS terrorist group, targeted al-Moayed Mosque in the Yemeni capital.
In a similar incident in June, a car bomb exploded near the Shiite mosque of Qubat al-Mahdi Mosque in the Old City of Sanaa, killing three people and injuring seven others. The ISIS terrorist group also claimed that deadly bomb attack, saying it targeted the Ansarullah movement.
Analysts say the Saudi-led coalition aggression on Yemen has enabled ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists in Yemen to grow and to launch attacks. Yemenis say ISIS is part of the toolbox of the Saudi government and its allies in terms of fighting the Yemeni people.
