Alwaght - The US is pressing Iraqi army and Haider al-Abadi's government to prevent Iraq's Public Mobilization Forces (al_Hashd al-Shaabi) from entering Fallujah and Ramadi cities, a source close to Iraq's Ministry of Defense told Alwaght under the condition of anonymity.
The informed source revealed that the US ambassador to Iraq along with American forces commander in Iraq have put pressure on Iraqi Government not to allow PMF to enter into two main cities of Ramadi and Fallujah in al_Anbar Province.
"Since two weeks ago, when the Iraqi government decided to let Iraqi forces, led by PMF, cleanse Fallujah city from ISIS terrorists, launching successful operations in the city's countryside, the US ambassador in Iraq urged Haider al-Abadi to postpone the operation under the pretext of lack of coordination between army and the leaders of armed Iraqi nomads," he said Alwaght adding " American forces' commander, simultaneously, urged Iraq's army heads to suspend the prearranged operations".
The interventionist actions of the US ambassador and army commander have caused concerns among officials of Iraq's Ministry of Defense and have inflicted negative impacts on the Iraqi forces' operation in Fallujah.
However, such interventions in favor of ISIS terrorist group are not unprecedented. Prior to this, when Iraqi army along with PM forces besieged ISIS terrorists, the US forces, reportedly, have delivered payloads of arm, equipment, and food to ISIS terrorist helping them break the blockade.
About a month ago ISIS carried a massive maneuver a few kilometers to the US forces' base, but the US army, despite its commitment for helping Iraq's central government, did not react to it letting the terrorist group accomplish its hours-long military maneuver.
