Alwaght-Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas and Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad have vowed to chase down and apprehend the thugs who carried out the explosions in Gaza on Sunday morning.
According to Palestinian media sources, in a joint statement, both armed wings reaffirmed their resolve to continue protecting the Palestinian people and resisting the Israeli regime.
The statement said that “such criminal acts will not stop us from performing our duty". The statement added that such acts only serve the Israeli regime.
Unidentified persons blew up cars belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad and caused great damage on Sunday morning. Four vehicles belonged to members of Hamas and two to Islamic Jihad affiliates. No casualties have been reported.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which are said to have involved at least six car bombs.
However, terrorists affiliated with the Wilayat Al Sinai terror group – previously known as the Ansar Bait al-Maqdis – are believed to be behind the assaults, according to reports.
The Takfiri terrorist group, which is allied to ISIS, is responsible for most of the attacks in Egypt’s volatile Sinai Peninsula.
Hamas has taken strict measures in the besieged territory to curb the activities of terrorists affiliated with ISIS.
On July 1, Mahmoud al-Zahar, a founding member of Hamas, said the resistance movement would respond to any threats from the terrorist group after militants from the ISIS threatened to attack the Palestinian resistance movement in a 16-minute video released earlier in the day.
