Iran Nuclear Accord won’t Change Hezbollah Policies

Sunday 19 July 2015
Iran Nuclear Accord won’t Change Hezbollah Policies
Alwaght-The nuclear accord between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries will not change the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah’s policies in the region.
“Hezbollah will remain the same after the Iranian nuclear agreement. Today, tomorrow and everyday it will be the party of resistance that supports Palestine and protects Lebanon from every threat, be it Israeli or Takfiri,” said Sheikh Nabil Qaouq, the deputy head of the movement's executive council, as quoted in a Sunday report by Lebanese Naharnet news website.
Iran and the P5+1 group -- the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany –  reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on July 14 in the Austrian capital of Vienna following days of intensive talks over Tehran’s nuclear program.
“This is our pledge that we will not change,” Qaouq added.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday once again reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Lebanese resistance movement due to its bravery and genuine resistance against aggressive powers.
“The Americans dub the Lebanese resistance as terrorist and regard Iran as a supporter of terrorism because of its support for the Lebanese Hezbollah, while the Americans, themselves, are real terrorists who have created Daesh [ISIS] and support the wicked Zionists,” the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Iran will always support the oppressed Palestinian, Yemeni, Iraqi and Bahraini people as well as the Syrian nation and government and fighters of the resistance movement.
Hezbollah “will continue the battle that it launched to protect our villages and people in Lebanon from the Takfiri gangs,” the Hezbollah official said, adding, “The resistance will carry on with what it had started in the outskirts of [the northeastern border towns of] Arsal and Ras Baalbek and [Syria's] Qalamoun and Zabadani.”
The highly strategic area, which straddles the Lebanese-Syrian border, was previously used by the al-Nusra Front militants for transferring weapons and ammunition into Syria, where they have been involved in terrorist activities.
Syrian forces and the resistance movement’s fighters have been fighting terrorist across the Syrian-Lebanese border since May 4, which has reportedly driven militants out of more than 90 percent of the territory previously controlled by them in the mountainous region of Qalamoun.
