ALWAGHT- The Israeli military has confirmed that the commander of its 401st Armored Brigade was killed by Palestinian resistance fighters in the northern Gaza Strip.
Ehsan Daqsa was killed when his tank was struck by explosive devices in Gaza's Jabalia city on Sunday, according to the Israeli military.
Israeli media reported that Daqsa, one of the highest-ranking officers to be killed in Gaza, hailed from the Druze town of Daliyat al-Karmel and assumed command of the 401st Brigade in June.
Additionally, Israeli media outlets reported that the commanders of the 162nd and 52nd Divisions of the Israeli occupation forces were ambushed in Jabalia. Initial reports indicate that both commanders were also killed.
Palestinian resistance fighters have been engaged in fierce battles with Israel since the regime's war on Gaza began last October, inflicting significant losses on Israeli forces operating in the besieged area.
