Iranian President-Elect Commends Iraq’s Stances Against Israel

ALWAGHT- Masoud Pezeshkian, the president-elect of Iran, praised the Iraqi government for its prudent stance on the Israeli regime's actions in Gaza.

During a phone call with the Iraqi Prime Minister on Tuesday, Masoud Pezeshkian, the president-elect of Iran, expressed his appreciation for the Iraqi government’s “wise and dignified stances” on the Israeli regime’s crimes against the people of Gaza and for assisting with the treatment of injured Palestinians.

He emphasized the close cultural and religious ties between Iran and Iraq, citing the Arbaeen rituals as a significant expression of this strong bond.

Pezeshkian thanked Iraq for hosting Iranian pilgrims and expressed hope that continued cooperation from Baghdad would allow Iranians to participate in this year’s Arbaeen season’s rituals alongside other pilgrims in an excellent manner.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani congratulated Pezeshkian on his election victory and expressed optimism about the prospects for bilateral, regional, and international cooperation with Tehran during the upcoming Iranian administration’s term.
