ALWAGHT- The spokesperson for Iran's Elections Headquarters dismissed the possibility of using electronic voting machines in the upcoming presidential election.
Mohsen Eslami stated that the Constitutional Council and the Interior Ministry have decided that the upcoming presidential election, scheduled for June 28, will be conducted solely with paper ballots.
“No electronic voting machines will be used in the presidential election,” he confirmed.
Six candidates are running for president in Iran: Saeed Jalili, Alireza Zakani, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, Mostafa Pourmohammadi, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and Masoud Pezeshkian.
The election campaign period began on Sunday and will continue until June 26, with the nationwide presidential election set for Friday, June 28.
The new administration, the 14th since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, will take office in late June or early July and serve a four-year term.
