ALWAGHT- Today (Tuesday), Sheikh Naim Qassem, Hezbollah's Deputy Secretary-General in Lebanon, stated: "Should the Israeli regime desire to enter into a widespread conflict, we stand prepared."
Sheikh Naim Qassem underscored in an interview with Al Jazeera: Any Israeli attempt to escalate the conflict against Lebanon will result in destruction and compel the Zionists in the occupied territories to withdraw.
He elaborated: The resistance is prepared for combat and will not permit Israel to achieve any victory.
Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed: Our aim is to prevent an escalation of hostilities, but if forced upon us, we will retaliate.
He remarked: Over the past two months, we have faced repeated threats (to halt our resistance against the Zionists), but our stance remains that the Lebanese front is interconnected with the Gaza front.
Commenting on US President Joe Biden's proposed ceasefire and prisoner exchange plan for the Gaza Strip, he said: Biden's proposals to de-escalate the situation are illegitimate and intended for domestic electoral purposes in the United States.
