ALWAGHT- The Armed Forces of Yemen have cautioned that they could unexpectedly intensify their pro-Palestinian attacks should the Israeli regime persist in its current genocidal campaign against the Gaza Strip.
The spokesperson for the forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, issued the warning during a speech on Monday.
"Gaza represents a red line for us, an absolute red line. Our causes, sacred sites, and our adherence to Islam are non-negotiable," he emphasized.
"We target objectives that the enemy has not anticipated and cannot envision, objectives beyond the imagination of both the Yemeni people and the wider Arab and Islamic community," the official declared.
Yemen initiated these strikes following October 7, when the Israeli regime commenced its assault on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 35,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.
The Yemeni forces initiated their operations by targeting Israeli vessels or those bound for the ports of the occupied Palestinian territories that might traverse Yemen's maritime regions.
Subsequently, they expanded their strikes to encompass targets throughout the occupied territories and ships traversing the Indian Ocean, as the Israeli regime persisted in its refusal to halt the war and the concurrent siege it imposed on Gaza.
In May, Brigadier General Saree announced the commencement of the fourth phase of pro-Palestinian operations, stating that Yemeni forces would now target all ships destined for Israeli ports "in the Mediterranean Sea, within any area accessible to us."
He further cautioned that the Yemeni military would impose restrictions on all vessels belonging to companies engaged in supplying and accessing Israeli ports, regardless of their nationality. Furthermore, they would prohibit all ships belonging to these companies from traversing through the operational zone of the Armed Forces, regardless of their intended destination.
Expanding on his statements from Monday, the spokesperson added, "With the will and strength bestowed upon us by God, we will progress to the fifth and sixth phases of our pro-Palestinian operations if the enemy persists in its aggression against Gaza."
