Alwaght- Yemen Army’s Missile Forces Unit and the popular committees have unveiled a new domestically-developed missile, called Badr P-1, amid the stepped-up Saudi air aggression on the country.
The media bureau of Yemen’s Operations Command Center, in a statement released on Saturday, announced that the short-range and solid-propellant Badr P-1 missile is an upgrade of Badr-1 missile, and has a pinpoint accuracy of 3 meters, Iran’s Press TV reported.
Earlier in the day, Yemen forces struck Saudi forces in the coastal province of Hudaydah by the same missile, killing and injuring a number of them.
The Yemeni army and Ansarullah movement launched three missiles at Saudi province of Jizan on Thursday in response to an air assault in Hudaydah that killed over 20 civilians.
The projectile is said to have been developed on the basis of the Badr-1 rocket, produced in the past.
The Yemeni forces also have other missiles with various ranges including Burkan (Volcano) and Zilzal (Earthquake).
Yemen has been making fast advances in the rocket technology despite the hard war conditions on the country.
The missiles are developed to target the Saudi-led coalition forces inside the foreign-occupied regions of the country and also the Saudi and UAE cities in retaliation to the daily airstrikes on the Yemeni civilians.
Saudi-led Arab alliance waged a war on the neighboring country in March 2015 in a bid to reinstate government of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi who resigned and escaped the country shortly before the war.
