Alwaght- Donald Trump's comment on Russian interference in US presidential election have taken another odd turn on Tuesday, this time claiming to be "very concerned" Moscow will meddle in the upcoming US election in favor of the Democrats.
After days of non-stop flip-flopping on whether he believed Russia had meddled in the 2016 US elections, the US president took to Twitter to Say:
"I’m very concerned that Russia will be fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming Election. Based on the fact that no President has been tougher on Russia than me, they will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don’t want Trump!".
Mr Trump has repeatedly spoken of the Russian president in glowing terms, congratulating him for his election victory against the advice of senior White House officials.
He has previously boasted that Mr Putin thought he was a "genius" and said "getting along with Russia is a good thing." He tweeted before the summit that, "Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity."
On Tuesday, he appeared to backtrack on that, claiming he was the tough one on Russia
