Alwaght- Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, ordered troops on Saturday to maintain readiness in order to confront Takfiri terrorists and Israeli enemy.
General Aoun remarks were during a ceremony in honor of army units who participated in the “Fajr al-Joroud” military operation which took place against ISIS terrorists in Qaa and Ras Baalbek outskirts.
“The State has won, in wake of the current challenges and our preemptive war against terrorism. We will pursue all those who attacked Lebanon and the army,” Aoun asserted, addressing the troops.
“During the ‘Fajr al-Joroud’ operation, two main goals were achieved, namely the liberation of the land from terrorism and revealing the fate of the kidnapped soldiers,” the Army Chief explained.
He said that investigations into 2014 Arsal battle are taking place, disclosing that detentions have begun, stressing that anyone found to be involved in the attack on the nation shall be arrested.
“A series of arrests have been initiated, whereby every homeland aggressor shall be arrested,” General Aoun said, assuring that there will be no place for rioters in the country.
He urged army troops to maintain utmost readiness in face of the Israeli enemy.
“You have to double your readiness to confront the Israeli enemy which has never ceased its threatening of Lebanese security.”
The remarks come as Lebanon plans to file a complaint with the United Nations against the Israeli regime for planting spy devices and violating the country's airspace.
The Israeli warplanes violated Lebanon’s airspace on Sunday, flying at a low altitude and breaking the sonic barrier above the country’s third city of Sidon and Palestinian refugee camps in the area.
