ALWAGHT- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until oil sanctions are removed, frozen Iranian assets are released, and the US naval blockade comes to an end.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed the 180th open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Tuesday, firmly stating that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until all conditions outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding are fully met. These conditions include the lifting of oil sanctions, the release of Iran's frozen assets, the end of the US naval blockade, and the cessation of all threats and military operations across all fronts.
Ghalibaf further warned that Iran is fully prepared to inflict a heavier defeat on the enemy in proportion to its actions and advances. He emphasized that through the synergy of battlefield operations, diplomacy, and military strength, and with the backing of the Iranian nation and the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's resilience has already resulted in a significant political and legal victory—documented in the Islamabad MoU as a testament to America's defeat.
The speaker also criticized the enemy for reneging on its commitments after reluctantly accepting the agreement to end the war, attempting to compensate for its heavy political setback. However, he reiterated Iran's readiness to confront any further actions, stressing that the Islamic Republic is poised to respond with even greater force if necessary.
