US Troops Voice Opposition to Iran War, Question Israel’s Influence

ALWAGHT- Messages reportedly left by US servicemen raise questions over Israeli influence, troop morale, and the purpose of an open-ended deployment.

Quincy Institute co-founder Trita Parsi said messages reportedly written by US servicemen on an aircraft flap in the Persian Gulf reflect growing frustration among troops deployed to the region, particularly over the indefinite nature of their assignments. The messages included references to Israel, the Epstein scandal, and the war being fought for the “Holy Land.”

Parsi said one serviceman described the operation as having “no morale behind it,” arguing that the lack of a clear purpose and indefinite deployments were affecting troop attitudes. Parsi suggested such conditions could significantly shape how service members perceive the conflict.

He concluded that when a war lacks morale, ending it becomes the only meaningful measure of success, particularly if troops view the conflict as unjust. The comments come amid scrutiny of conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and calls from US lawmakers for answers from the War Department.
