ALWAGHT- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran remains firmly committed to the path of resistance despite mounting pressure, emphasizing that the country will never allow the blood of those unjustly killed to be forgotten or overlooked.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said documents on Ashura reflect Iran’s longstanding pursuit of dignity and resistance against hegemonic and colonial powers. He described Iran’s diplomacy as “human-centered” and said defending religious sanctities and promoting Ashura culture have remained part of the country’s diplomatic identity.
Araghchi said this year’s Muharram and Ashura carried special significance following what he called US and Israeli aggression against Iran. He said Iranians had sacrificed lives in defense of the country’s freedom, dignity and independence, stressing that abandoning perseverance and sacrifice could threaten a nation’s identity and ability to shape its future.
He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to resistance despite pressure, saying the country would remain steadfast in confronting what he described as injustice and inhumanity. Araghchi also vowed that Iran would neither forget nor forgive those responsible for the deaths of its people, as he inaugurated an exhibition featuring Foreign Ministry documents on Muharram and Ashura.
