Hamas Calls for Urgent Measures to Lift Gaza Siege Amid Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

ALWAGHT- Hamas calls for international intervention to lift the Gaza siege following new ceasefire breaches by Israeli forces.

Hamas issued a statement urging Arab states and the international community to intensify pressure on Israel and its supporters to end their aggression, lift the Gaza blockade, and open all humanitarian crossings. The group stressed that Gaza’s rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis—marked by severe shortages of food, medicine, clean water, shelter, and a collapsing healthcare system—requires immediate global intervention.

The movement held Israel fully responsible for ceasefire violations, the closure of crossings, and the obstruction of aid. It called on guarantor states to compel Israel to uphold the humanitarian protocol of the ceasefire agreement, particularly by opening the Rafah crossing for medical evacuations, relief supplies, and the movement of civilians. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 266 Palestinians have been killed and 635 injured by Israeli fire.

Hamas also condemned the international community’s inaction, warning that it worsens the suffering of over two million Palestinians under siege. The group highlighted WHO data showing that more than 900 patients have died due to evacuation delays caused by the blockade, with about 16,500 still awaiting approval for treatment. Hamas concluded by urging the world to act swiftly to end the Gaza siege and protect the Palestinian people.
