US Today Using ISIS Terrorists as Tool in West Asia: Iran’s Top Official

Alwaght- Iran Slams the recent US report labeling Tehran as sponsor of terrorism and says the US is the largest supporter of terrorists in the West Asia and around the globe.

"America today is using ISIS as a tool and defending the Zionist regime. But the Islamic Republic of Iran which has stood up against (American) hegemony and confronted, it is put on the list of terrorists," Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said on Sunday.

The report issued by US State Department’s global terrorism on Saturday claimed that Iran is the top state sponsor of terrorism.

"This will have no effect on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy of defending regional nations," Shamkhani added.

Also earlier on Saturday Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari in a statement said: “While the US supports ISIS and other terrorist organizations in the region, it is the Islamic Republic which is battling terrorism on the frontlines in Iraq and Syria.”

He also emphasized that the US’s hypocritical and duplicitous approach to terrorism is one of the main contributors to terrorism in the region and the world.

“The US’s manipulative use of terrorism and its blatant disregard for crimes committed by terrorist groups against civilians have caused terrorism to take root, making it more difficult to deal with,” he added.
