Egyptians Plan Mass Friday Protests Against Sisi for Giving Islands to Saudi Monarchy

Alwaght- Egyptian opposition groups have called for mass protests to condemn the country's president Abdel Fata el Sisi for giving out two of the country’s Islands to the Saudi monarchy.

In a statement, the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance said it strongly rejected, “the traitor Sisi's and his gang of thieves' selling off of the national territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt.”

The opposition group said Sisi is a treacherous murderer who signed an agreement to hand over the Egyptian islands of Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia, in exchange for promises and cash. The statement noted that Sisi has committed the exact crime he falsely accused President Mohamed Morsi of adding that the military-backed ruled had trampled Egyptian sovereignty to hold onto power.

The Alliance maintained that it will not wait for the illegitimate parliament to object, and will not ask Sisi to rescind his decisions maintaining that the agreements on the Islands are null and void.

The opposition group called on all Egyptians to join mass demonstrations to protest the wrongful decision to cede Egyptian territories, starting Friday.

The Alliance said it will never give up Egyptian sovereignty, popular will, the rights of the poor and detainees, or the rights of the martyrs and expressed hope that Egypt will restore its territories and its free will, despite all the heinous plotting by all traitors and oppressors.

Egyptians have expressed outrage at President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's decision to hand over two of the country’s islands to Saudi Arabia.

The deal on two Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir was announced last weekend during a visit by Saudi regime’s King Salman.

The deal came as a part of a spate of economic agreements signed during Saudi King Salman’s first visit to Egypt. The accords also include the creation of a $20 billion Saudi Egyptian investment fund

Twitter users circulated images of the former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser warning of any violations of the Tiran waters, which he said were Egyptian. One cartoon showed Sisi swapping the islands for a sack of rice.
