Alwaght- The World Congress on Extremist and Takfiri Movements in the Islamic Scholars’ View, began in the Iranian holy city of Qom on Sunday and finished its work on Monday, Press TV reported .
More than 600 Muslim scholars from over 80 countries attended the two-day event. According to reports, 40 percent of the participants were Shiite and 60 percent Sunnis.
This congress was hold in four specialized Panels aiming at investigating the genealogy of Takfiri movements as well as ways to counter the threat of Takfiri ideology and extremism.
Iran’s Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi was the chairman of the congress, and Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani was the gathering’s scientific secretary.
Saying that Takfiris harm both Islam and the human society, all of the scholars called for fighting extremism and excommunication Ideology.
According to reports, attendants of World Congress on Extremist and Takfiri Movements counted ignorance as the main reason behind people's joining to Takfiri groups. Dr. Abdullah Nezam from Syria told Takfiris interpret Islamic laws by themselves. He said there is such a notion as takfir or excommunication but the problem is matching this notion to the real cases. Takfir has a definite definition in Islam but Takfiris generalize it to everybody who has a different viewpoint.
"Sectarianism is another reason that fuel the Takfirism fire in the region. Today, satellites are propagating sectarianism to move youths towards joining Takfiri groups," told Dr. Abdullah Nezam.
He said," Sunni and Shiite scholars should publicly announce that insulting other's belief is forbidden, and textbook should be cleared from materials that provoke sectarianism".
Sheikh Valid Felyon also told that because Takfiris cannot distort holy Quran tries to distort prophet's speeches to justify their crimes".
Another reason counted by scholars for the formation of Takfiri groups is the corruption of some Islamic countries regimes. Mullah Qader Qaderi Imam if Friday pray of Paveh told tyranny of some rulers and their dependence on the western powers has disappointed our youths.
Last but not least reason behind Takfiri movement's formation is the West. Afghan scholar, Mulawi Mukhtar Mofleh, emphasized that "the origin of extremist movements is not in Helmand plan or Pamir Mountains, its origin is in White House and Tel Aviv". Manu Muslim scholars believe that Western Powers along with Israeli regime have founded and funded these movements and groups to firstly, present a false image of Islam all over the world and secondly use them a proxy in fight against true Islam.
Mullah Qader Qaderi told western Powers only seek to despoil Islamic countries wealth and underground reserves.
“Takfiris represent an (image of) Islam that is completely violent,” Ayatollah Sobhani said, adding that a remedy should be found for the malady of Takfiris who have entangled the Islamic world in a serious problem .
The senior Iranian cleric said Islam promotes peace and unity, while Takfiris foster fear and ferment sedition and violence .
Ayatollah Sobhani also called for the elimination of some elements in religious textbooks that breed Takfiri ideology .
