Alwaght- Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari warned against a scheme by the Israeli regime and its main ally, the US, to disintegrate Iraq and Syria.
Speaking at the sixth conference on “Gaza, Symbol of Resistance” in Tehran on Wednesday, Major General Jafari reiterated that the plot by the Zionists and the US to disintegrate Iraq and Syria is part of a bigger scheme to harm Iran and its Islamic Revolution. The top commander said Iran will thwart the scheme to disintegrate regional countries.
After failing to carry out their numerous plots against the Islamic Revolution, the Americans resorted to sowing discord among Muslim nations and regional countries in order to use the potentials of the Muslim world against the revolution, he said.
“We consider the scenario for splitting Iraq and Syria as an entirely Zionist and US plot and we will foil it,” the commander underlined.
“Today, no army is capable of standing against the movement of the Islamic Revolution,” Major General Jafari said, adding that the US and Israeli armies are fully aware that if they make a wrong move the movement will eradicate them.
Jafari underlined that even the US military is not able to defeat the big regional volunteer armies which have been formed in the region to fight against the terrorists.
"A massive numberless popular force similar to Basij (the volunteer forces) has been formed in Iraq, Syria and Libya against internal and foreign plots which is necessary for the survival of resistance," Jafari said.
"An over-200,000-strong organized popular force has been formed in these countries and it is the same force that no army even of the US and Israel can confront it," he added.
General Jafari touched on the Gaza perseverance against the invading Israeli regime forces in 2008 and said that method of resistance has expanded across the region and will grow further until the entire regional nations are freed from the arrogance’s yoke.
Jafari said the Gaza resistance was exceptional, adding the small besieged territory enjoys a faithful and robust population that stood against heavily armed regime in a 22-day war.
He underscored that achievements of the popular and resistance forces will continue until the freedom of Palestine and the liberation of the holy Quds from the usurper Israeli regime.
The ‘Gaza, symbol of resistance’, is held annually in Tehran to examine the threats and potentials of the regional anti-Israeli resistance.
January 19 has been designated by the Iranian parliament as Day of Gaza in the Iranian calendar.
