Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said diplomacy should be used to safeguard military gains and remain backed by defense capabilities during a meeting with Hamas political leader Mohammad Darwish on the sidelines of funeral ceremonies for Iran's martyred Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He said negotiations with the United States had included provisions respecting the territorial integrity of regional countries and ending military action against Iran's regional allies.
Darwish said the United States and Israel had failed to achieve their objectives against Palestinian resistance in Gaza and Iran during the recent conflict. He also praised Iran's diplomatic efforts, saying its agreement with Washington and support for regional allies had helped strengthen the position of the Islamic Ummah.
