ALWAGHT- Hezbollah Deputy Chief, Sheikh Naim Qassem, asserted that Resistance is the cornerstone of Lebanon's strength. He denounced a recent Israeli strike in al-Hebbariyeh and called for nationwide unity.
Sheikh Naim Qassem stated that Lebanon has maintained its sovereignty through the liberation of its lands and possesses real self-defense capabilities. He made these remarks during a speech in Hadath, an area heavily attacked by Israel in 2024, emphasizing that only the Resistance's military strength, popular solidarity, and unified political will can deter Israeli aggression.
The Hezbollah leader condemned a specific Israeli incursion into al-Hebbariyeh, where an official was abducted, labeling it a violation of Lebanese sovereignty. Domestically, he asserted that attempts to create divisions between the Lebanese Army and the people, or between the Resistance and its popular base, have failed. He also noted that while Hezbollah and President Joseph Aoun may disagree on some issues, they agree on major national priorities.
Sheikh Naim expressed support for government reconstruction efforts in the south, pledging Hezbollah's cooperation with the Prime Minister. He emphasized that national cooperation between the people, army, government, and Resistance is crucial for shaping Lebanon's future and reaffirmed the deep-rooted partnership between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement.
In his concluding remarks, Sheikh Qassem addressed the recent building collapses in Tripoli, which caused multiple deaths. He called on the government to take serious action to support the affected region, address unsafe buildings, and provide housing assistance to residents.
