ALWAGHT- Gaza’s Government Media Office reports that since the October 10 truce began, Israel has violated the ceasefire with Hamas 47 times, killing at least 38 Palestinians and wounding 143 others.
Gaza’s media office accused Israel of repeatedly violating the US-brokered ceasefire with Hamas through gunfire, shelling, and civilian arrests. Officials urged the United Nations and other guarantors to intervene immediately to stop Israeli aggression and protect civilians. Israeli strikes were reported in several parts of Gaza, including Rafah and Jabalia, killing at least two people and injuring others.
Despite the truce’s goal of enabling humanitarian aid, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Rafah crossing to remain closed until Hamas returns the bodies of Israeli captives. His office directed the military to “act forcefully” after accusing Hamas of breaking the ceasefire, while Israeli forces claimed their actions were in response to Hamas attacks. Hamas denied any involvement, reaffirming its commitment to the ceasefire and denying knowledge of clashes in Rafah.
The renewed violence has put the fragile truce at risk, threatening to cut off humanitarian aid once again. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that Israel’s two-year war has killed over 68,000 people and wounded more than 170,000 since October 2023. The conflict has devastated Gaza’s infrastructure, displaced over two million residents, and left nearly the entire population reliant on aid for survival.
