Iran Reveals New Ballistic Missile

ALWAGHT- The Iranian Defense Ministry unveiled a new medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) on Sunday.

The "E’temad" (trust) ballistic missile was revealed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to a Defense Ministry missile exhibition.

At 16 meters in length, the missile has a range of 1,700 kilometers and is equipped with a precision-guided warhead.

In recent years, Iranian military experts and technicians have made significant progress in developing a wide array of indigenous equipment, achieving self-sufficiency in arms production. Iran asserts that its military strength poses no threat to neighboring countries, emphasizing that its defense strategy is solely based on deterrence.

Iran's unveiling of the "E’temad" ballistic missile highlights its continued focus on strengthening its military capabilities. This move is in line with Iran's "forward defense" doctrine, which prioritizes projecting power beyond its borders to deter potential adversaries and prevent conflicts from reaching Iranian soil. The strategy heavily relies on asymmetric warfare tactics, such as the use of ballistic missiles, drones, and proxy forces, to address perceived threats.

In recent years, Iran has made considerable progress in its missile and space programs, achieving self-reliance in arms production. The "E’temad" missile, with a range of 1,700 kilometers and a precision-guided warhead, reflects these advancements. Iran has also developed sophisticated surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and naval cruise missiles, further showcasing its growing technological capabilities.
