Israel Demolishes 8-story Beirut Building in Missile Strike

ALWAGHT- The Israeli regime has struck a residential building in central Beirut with missiles, killing at least 11 people and injuring 63, as its aggression against Lebanon intensifies.

Israeli missiles struck and completely destroyed an eight-story residential building in Beirut's Basta area early Saturday, according to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network. Surrounding buildings were also heavily damaged, with explosions reverberating throughout the city. The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) confirmed the attack, reporting that five missiles hit the building on al-Mamoun Street, leaving the capital reeling from what it described as a "horrific massacre."

The strikes followed the Israeli demolition of an 11-story building in Beirut’s southern suburbs a day earlier. Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, another Israeli attack reportedly killed at least five paramedics, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Hezbollah has been actively confronting Israeli forces across southern Lebanon and border villages, particularly in Khiyam. The resistance group launched missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli troops in settlements and bases, including Haifa, Acre, and the occupied Golan Heights. Rocket impacts were reported in areas such as Kiryat Ata, north of Haifa.

The ongoing Israeli aggression since October 2023 has claimed over 3,500 lives in Lebanon, with more than 15,000 injured. Most casualties have occurred in the past month amid intensified airstrikes and a ground offensive, met with steadfast resistance from Hezbollah.
