IRICA Reports 16% Increase in Iran’s Non-Oil Trade with Its 15 Neighbors Over 5 Months

ALWAGHT- In the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (beginning March 21, 2024), Iran's non-oil trade with its 15 neighboring countries grew by 16% compared to the same period last year.

According to the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran's trade with its 15 neighboring countries reached $26.857 billion between March 21 and August 22, 2024. Mohammad Rezvanifar reported that this period saw a 10% increase in trade volume, totaling 43.579 million tons, compared to the same time last year.

The United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and Russia were identified as Iran’s top five trade partners during this period. Specifically, trade values with these countries were $11 billion, $6 billion, $4.8 billion, $1.1 billion, and $969 million, respectively, according to the deputy minister of economy.

Rezvanifar also noted that Iran's non-oil exports to these 15 neighboring states increased by 11% in weight and 19% in value compared to the previous year. Iraq, the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan were highlighted as the major buyers of Iranian products during this period.
