Alwaght- Syria has condemned the false allegations made by the US that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons in the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside.
In a statement published Syrian official news agency SANA, Foreign Ministry “condemned the US allegations, which even those who made them confess are not based on any evidence, and which claim the Syrian government used chlorine gas or sarin gas in the Eastern Ghouta area east of Damascus city.” The statement noted that the claims are no more than lies built upon stories by those whom the US administration calls its “partners on the ground.”
The ministry said that these “partners on the ground” who are loyal to American policies are terrorists and murderers who are responsible for shedding Syrian people’s blood and who committed crimes to justify US and Western interference in Syrian affairs.
“Such US allegations always coincide with efforts to end the crisis in Syria via a peaceful solution, and they also come after the US and its allies failed to pass resolutions against Syria at the Security Council and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)”, the statement noted.
Syria asserts that the reports in media outlets backed by the West about the use of chemical weapons is party of a US-Western evil plant that seeks to justify military aggression against the country, particularly after the achievements realized by the Syrian Army in its war on terrorism across the country.
The Syrian government has reiterated that it is against the use of chemical weapons in any place, any time, and under any circumstances, because their use is against its moral principles and contradicts the confirmed fact that it handed over its entire chemical arsenal to the OPCW.
The statement also noted that these recent US-Western allegations seek to protect the terrorist groups they sponsor who are now collapsing in the face of the Syrian Army, asserting that these terrorist groups are the ones who use chemical weapons without any moral compunction or conscience just to make cheap gains at the expense of Syrian lives.
