Yemeni Forces Fire Ballistic Missile at Saudi-Occupied Base in Marib

Yemeni Forces Fire Ballistic Missile at Saudi-Occupied Base in Marib

Alwaght- Yemeni forces fired a ballistic missile at a Saudi-occupied military base in Marib province.

Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, citing an unnamed military source, reported that the indigenously produced Qaher M-2 ballistic missile was fired against the Om al-Rish military base on Thursday morning.

The report added that the missile hit the target with “high precision.” There were, however, no immediate reports about the number of possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.

On Wednesday evening, the forces also targeted gatherings of Saudi mercenaries at the Khabb & Sha’af district in Yemen’s northern province of Jawf with the same ballistic missile, Yemen’s official SABA news agency, reported.

There was no immediate comment from Saudi officials on the missile attacks.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 14,000 Yemenis, mostly women, children and the elderly, have been killed since the onset of Saudi Arabia’s military campaign against Yemen. Much of the Arabian Peninsula country's infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and factories, has been reduced to rubble due to the war. The Saudi-led war has also triggered a deadly cholera epidemic and famine across Yemen.
