Disabled Palestinian Killed by Israeli Forces Buried in Gaza

Disabled Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Thurayya killed by Israeli regime troops in Gaza

Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip marched on Saturday in the funeral of disabled Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Thurayya, killed by Israeli troops on Friday.

Alwaght- Thousands of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip marched on Saturday in the funeral of Slain disabled Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Thurayya, 29, who was shot in the head and killed by Israeli regime forces during Friday anti-US protests.

Abu Thurayya was a well-known Palestinian activist, famously known for consistently protesting the Israeli occupation, despite losing both his legs in an Israeli airstrike in 2008. After he was disabled during the brutal Israeli war on Gaza, Abu Thurayya worked washing cars in Gaza to support his 11-member family.

Before losing his legs, he was a proud fisherman who would take his small boat to fish the waters near his home where he earned $14 to $19 a day.

Tributes to Abu Thurayya popped up across social media after his martyrdom, as Palestinians widely circulated a video of him calling on everyone to protest against US President Donald Trump’s recognition of al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israeli regime, just days before he was killed.

Speaking during the funeral of Abu Thurayya, Ismail Haniyah, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas, said al-Quds would remain a Palestinian and Islamic city and nobody could change its status quo.

"Let it be known that we will not give up al-Quds, I do not mean East al-Quds, but a unified al-Quds, neither East nor West of al-Quds," said Haniyah.

On Friday, four Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire and dozens more wounded in clashes across the West Bank and near Gaza's border.
