How Wahhabism Serves Saudi Arabian Foreign Policy?

Alwaght- French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday he would draw up a list of extremist groups to convey to Saudi Arabia after its crown prince promised to cut their funding.

Saudi Arabia finances groups overseen by the so-called Muslim World League, which for decades was charged with spreading the extremist Wahhabi ideology across the world.

He never did it publicly, but when I went to Riyadh (this month), he made a commitment, such that we could give him a list and he would cut the financing,” Macron said during an interview with France 24 television.

I believe him, but I will follow up. Trust is built on results,” Macron added.

Wahhabism, sometimes referred to as Salafism, is the official sect in Saudi Arabia and also the ideology of all Takfiri terrorist groups in the world, including al-Qaeda, ISIS, al-Nusra Front, Boko Haram, and al-Shabaab.

Last December, a leaked intelligence report in Germany suggested that Saudi Arabia supports extremist Wahhabi groups in the European country.

The report, by Germany’s BfV domestic intelligence agency accused Saudi-based of funding mosques, religious schools, hardline preachers and conversion or “dawah” groups to spread the ideology.

An investigation by Britain into the foreign funding and support of terrorists groups operating in the country also found that Saudi Arabia in particular provides funding to hundreds of mosques in the UK, espousing hardline Wahhabi ideology.
