Alwaght- The Saudi regime has recruited more than 5,000 Yemeni mercenaries to help repel growing retaliatory attacks by Yemeni forces inside the kingdom's border regions.
This new mercenary unit will be trained to fight alongside Saudi border guards who are finding it difficult from stopping Yemeni forces penetrating from northern Yemen into Saudi Arabia’s southern Najran province.
The newly-recruited mercenaries are expected to be operate along the Najran Saudi-Yemeni border.
According to reports, two batches of 400 and 500 mercenaries have already left Aden to an Eritrean island en route to the Saudi border province of Najran.
The trained mercenaries are reportedly familiar with the terrain and are therefore expected to protect Saudi territory from regular retaliatory attacks carried out by Yemeni forces in response to unabated Saudi bombardment of the war-torn impoverished country.
The Saudi-led coalition commenced its illegal aggression on Yemen on the pretext of protecting Yemeni people from Ansarullah movement but now the Riyadh regime has turned to Yemeni mercenaries to protect Saudi territory.
This points to not only miserable failure by the Saudi regime but clear retreat following the heroic resistance by Yemenis in the face of external aggression.
The Yemeni army and Ansarullah fighters have inflicted heavy and deadly blows have been on the Saudi military in terms of personnel and equipment.
Despite the fact that Yemenis do not have massive military hardware, but they have been standing against the enemy to defend their principles.
The Saudis launched their aggression under the slogan of serving the Yemenis, however, they have served the Yemenis with their missiles and destruction by killing women and children.
The Saudi-led aggressors cannot and will not be able to reach their objectives because Yemenis of all walks of life will continue to stand by their national commitments.
Saudi Arabia and its allies started a brutal aggression against Yemen in March 2015 with the stated objective of destroying the popular Ansarullah movement and restoring to power fugitive former Yemeni president Abdu Rabuh Mansour Hadi.
Weak Army, Massive Defense Budget
The Saudi army is inexperienced and weak in battle and the Yemen war has brought this to the fore. The army which is led by loyalists of the Royal family has modern equipment but has been unable to defeat a poorly equipped Yemeni army and Ansarullah fighters. Saudi Arabia has a massive arsenal with the latest weaponry but the kingdom is heavily dependent on the West for its use and maintenance.
Saudi Arabia has the third-largest defense budget in the world behind the United States and China but its military performance in Yemen been miserable and not matching the 87.2 billion dollars set aside for annual military expenditure.
The Saudi forces are struggling in the Yemen quagmire thus calling into question the much hyped Riyadh’s military strength.
The Yemeni fighters regular the border of Yemen into Saudi Arabia and of course very courageous for them to do that as Saudi tanks were lined up there. Although ill-equipped and maybe even ill-trained, the Yemeni fighters are able to throw painful blows to the Saudi army that is well-equipped. The Saudi army has retreated from the offensive position in Yemen to a defensive strategy which relies on foreign mercenaries.
Israeli Firm Protecting Saudi Borders
Apart from employing Yemeni mercenaries familiar with the border terrain, the Saudi regime has also engaged and Israeli firm to protect its borders.
In June, a Leaked document revealed the direct command of the Saudi defense minister to leave the "security" of the country's southern border to an Israeli company.
Defense Minister and the deputy crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud has ordered the border guard commander of country's southern areas to cooperate with an Israeli company to repel attacks by Yemeni army and Ansarullah fighters. The Israeli regime firm has been mandated with planting the Saudi-Yemeni border with mines and bombs and to explode them after the Saudi-led coalition forces withdraw the region.
The document revealed the defeat of Saudis’ aggression in Yemen to establish an effective international coalition against the Ansarullah movement and when they see their forces cannot counter Ansarullah and Yemeni forces, they asked an Israeli company called "almajal G4S", and in exchange for 45 million dollars, to take the responsibility of creating barriers and planting mines in the Kingdom's southern border.
By concentrating on defending its borders from Yemeni retaliatory attacks by Yemeni resistance forces, the desperate Riyadh regime aims to cut down on its military spending amid a budget crunch from low oil prices that has brought about simmering domestic discontent and regional resentment of the Saudi rulers.
