Alwaght- The Syrian armed forces backed by popular units successfully repel the al-Nusra terrorists' incursion to regain the lost positions in the northern Hama province.
The terrorist offensive attempted to attack the Hama governorate’s northern countryside On Monday via the town of Morek located in the Suran sub-district, the local commander in the area told RT.
“In their attacks al-Nusra fighters widely used gas canister with yellow-colored substance, but we managed to lure them in to a trap where we destroyed all the fighters,” the commander added.
In another development, the Syrian army in their attacks on terrorist's security positions destroyed three cars and a bulldozer used by the extremists.
The local witnesses reported that, there was a fierce fighting between Syrian government forces along with popular forces that lead to al-Nusra and its affiliates’ offensive.
Another commander of the Syrian forces in the area said: "By implementing a plan developed with the support and operation of the Russian and Syrian aircraft, we managed to surround the armed terrorist groups and destroy dozens of militants, including 15 vehicles with heavy DShK machine guns, five armored vehicles and two armored cars laden with bombs”.
Local sources said that Syrian Army destroyed al-Nusra leadership headquarters in Morek in addition to two other command posts in the region. At least 37 terrorists were reportedly killed.
The army and the popular units destroyed ten positions and a number of vehicles and rocket launching pads belonging to Jaish al-Fatah terrorists during operations in the countryside of Idlib and Hama provinces.
