Al-Nusra Attack to Quneitra Repulsed by Syrian Army

Alwaght- A unit of al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra terrorist group attempted on Saturday to occupy the strategic regions of Jaba, Bozaq and Korom Heights in the country’s southern Quneitra province, that was repelled back by Syrian army backed by popular forces

According to Iran-based Fars News Agency, the Al-Nusra terrorists fought for eight hours to capture a foothold in the area but Syrian Army who were fully aware of their plans, forced them to retreat, leaving many of their troops dead or wounded.

The Syrian Army announced that, earlier this month, they defeated several attempts by the terrorist groups toward the city of Quneitra, eastern countryside of Syria. The Special Operation Units of the Syrian Army, engaged in a heavy fight with armed terrorist groups in the Mashara village, near the southwestern city of Quneitra, that left many of the terrorists killed and wounded; Syrian Army Spoksman Quoted.

 In the past week, the Syrian Army and allied forces achieved series of victories in northwestern parts of the country wiping out terrorists from conflict zones.
