ALWAGHT- Iran's defense minister reports that the country's export of military goods and services has increased threefold over the last 33 months.
Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani shared these remarks during a Cabinet session on Sunday, highlighting the defense achievements of Iran over the past three years under President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration.
He noted that in most performance indicators, the country saw an "enormous increase" during the 33-month period.
Ashtiani explained that Iran's production of weapons, defense equipment, and systems, along with services to the Armed Forces, had grown by 2.5 times.
Among the country's defense and military accomplishments, he listed the successful launch of the Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite carrier, placing three satellites into orbit simultaneously, the launch of the “Zoljanah” research satellite carrier, and the launch of the "Saman" orbital transmission system with a sub-orbital space probe. Additionally, the design and manufacturing of Khorramshahr 4 and Abu Mahdi missiles, as well as achieving the capability of pinpointing missile targets, were highlighted.
He further mentioned the production of Khordad 15 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, the successful tests of the domestically-manufactured Mersad and Arman defense systems, the design and manufacturing of the Mohajer 10 strategic drone, the successful flight test of the Simorgh transport aircraft for the first time, the successful flight test of the Yasin training jet aircraft, and the completion and launch of the Dana destroyer as other significant accomplishments.
Ashtiani also pointed out the development of detection and identification systems, along with the ability to hit low-altitude targets and cruise missiles, as additional measures undertaken by Iran's Defense Ministry.
