Alwaght- The IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami commended the late President Ebrahim Raisi for his courage and leadership during Operation True Promise against Israel.
Speaking at a funeral ceremony for Martyr Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi the head of the President's security team in Tehran, General Salami praised the late President for elevating Iran's status and demonstrating exceptional bravery.
"Thanks to the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and the President's leadership, today the Islamic Iran enjoys remarkable authority," Salami said at the ceremony in the Abdolazim Shrine on Friday.
Salami highlighted the success of the anti-Israeli operation, noting that strong government diplomacy, led by Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, effectively struck at the heart of arrogance.
The General, according to Tasnim news agency, emphasized the widespread revival of the spirit of martyrdom in Iranian society, describing the profound emotional connection of the people to their martyrs.
He stressed that those who attained martyrdom possessed lofty, inspirational, and self-sacrificing qualities, dedicating every moment to the Iranian nation.
Salami also remarked on the significant political impact of Raisi's presidency, stating that Iran's bold actions against adversaries had demonstrated its stance clearly.
He noted that the global recognition of Raisi's martyrdom underscored by the participation of 63 foreign delegations at his funeral.
Salami affirmed that Iran's power, under the leadership of Imam Khamenei, would continue to grow, despite the enemy's efforts to harm the nation.
He thanked the Iranian people for their heroic display of support for the martyrs who expressed a deep commitment to serve and sacrifice for them.
Funeral processions for the late president and his entourage have recently taken place in Tabriz, Qom, Tehran, Birjand and the holy city of Mashhad with massive crowds in attendance.
A helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage crashed in northwestern mountainous forests on May 19.
The fatal accident happened as the president was returning from Khoda Afarin region in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan after inaugurating a dam at the common border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The crash killed President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian, Friday prayers leader of Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem, Governor of East Azarbaijan Malek Rahmati, the commander of the president’s security team, two pilots and a flight crew.
