Alwaght- The Russian envoy to the international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said a meeting today in Austria of China, Russia, and Iran’s envoys makes a new triangular for a multilateral diplomacy.
“Doesn't it look like a new triangular in multilateralism diplomacy, China, Russia, and Iran? In fact, this format can easily enlarge. There are many (if not majority of) states who are in favor of multilateralism and against attempts to keep unilateral world alive at all costs,” his Twitter post read.
He further lauded the “productive” consultations.
“The Permanent Missions of China, Iran, and Russia held productive trilateral consultations on issues of common interest,” he further said.
Emerging world order
The sound of the Western-dominated world order’s bones breaking is already being heard.
The world is preparing for a new world order more fair and multilateral as the West, led by the US, is losing its control on global decisions. Even worse, Washington is losing control of its closest allies like Saudi Arabia that last month said it is cutting oil supplies despite Western suffering from energy crunch due to Ukraine war.
More and more defiance to the US is emerging even by European allies who begin to circumvent US decisions and even sanctions. European leaders do not hide their resolution for a military alliance independent of the US. Also, Germany is reportedly secretly talking to Iran for oil.
If this is the behavior of the allies, what can the Americans expect for others like India, Brazil, and South Africa?
Meanwhile, China and Russia are growing stronger as Western strength dwindles. Today, no one can deny China's emerging global dominance, mainly in trade.
Russia is emerging, too. Its war on Ukraine marks its breaking with years of post-Soviet stay-at-home policy, though the campaign had broader reasons including NATO's expansion eastward. The fighting is now on the doorsteps of Europe but it cannot engage Russia directly and this has one reason: The good old days of the West are gone.
Iran is another angle of the emerging order. Tehran has passed the tests when it came to challenging the Western hegemony. Each time, the West hatches a plot against it, it emerges stronger. It had been grappling with home unrest over the past two months, but the Western-backed rioters have not made any progress as the public outrage is pushing the back.
The West cannot deny Iran's power to handle the sanctions. Even Russia is learning the tricks from it.
This is a realistic picture of the current world order, which is giving its place to a new one. Let's hope this happens smoothly.
