Alwaght- At least 38 people have been killed and 37 others injured after multiple attacks hit Syria's southern city of  Sweida and villages around it, the head of the health authority told state-run Ikhbariyah TV on Wednesday.

A suicide bomber blew himself up near a marketplace in Sweida early on Wednesday, as ISIS terrorists mounted attacks on several villages to the northeast.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “Three bombers with explosive belts targeted Sweida city alone, while the other blasts hit villages to the north and east.”

According to Syria's state-run news agency, SANA, a suicide bomber blew himself up in the area of al-Souq (market) in Sweida city, while Authorities chased and killed two other attackers there before they could also blow themselves up.

The air force struck militant hideouts there after soldiers thwarted an attempt by fighters to infiltrate the three village northeast of Sweida city, state media said.
