Alwaght- Iraqi forces have shelled a gathering of ISIS Takfiri terrorist group remnants, east of Tikrit, Salahuddin province, leaving all of them killed.
Local media outlets on Wednesday quoted a source within pro-government Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) saying, “the ninth brigade, backed by army jets, shelled militants gathering east of Glam al-Dor region, killing all of the militants there.”
Meanwhile, several ISIS terrorists were killed in an airstrike that targeted hideouts of the terrorist group, west of Anbar, a security source from the PMF in the province said on Wednesday.
The source added that, “the army jets shelled two hideouts of ISIS in the desert of Rutba town, west of Ramadi, leaving many militants, including foreigners, killed.”
The shelling, according to the source, “destroyed a rest house and many vehicles and equipment.”
In December last year, Iraqi Haider al-Abadi announced full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war to eject ISIS terrorist group from territories it had captured in the country.
However, ISIS remnants continue to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the Takfiri terrorist group still poses threat against stability in the country especially at this time the country is preparing for legislative elections.
