Iranian forces have killed the ringleader of a terrorist group, Jalil Qanbar Zehi, in clashes in the heights of Qasr-e Qand region, Southeastern Iran.

Alwaght- Iranian forces have killed the ringleader of Ansar al-Forqan Takfiri terrorist group, Jalil Qanbar Zehi, in clashes in the heights of Qasr-e Qand region, Southeastern Iran.

Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province's security affairs chief, Ali Asghar Mir-Shekari, said on Monday that Molavi Jalil Ghanbar Zehi, the ringleader of the so-called Ansar al-Furqan group, was killed during the recent clashes with the Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces Qods Unit.

IRGC's public relations office that after being tipped off about the presence of a Takfiri terrorist group in Qasr-e Qand region, several units of IRGC ground troops were dispatched to the scene and attacked the terrorists.

The IRGC's forces destroyed a vehicle laden with 600 kilograms of explosives, seized five bombs ready to be used in suicide attacks, 700 kilograms of explosives, tens of thousands of bullets and a number of weapons and ammunition during the operations, it added.

As per the statement, the IRGC underscored that the operations will be continued until all the fugitive terrorists are arrested, adding that future developments will be announced to the public soon.

Iranian forces have intensified anti-terrorist operations after recent deadly terror attacks in the Iranian capital Tehran, which killed 17 people and injured over 50 others.

On June 7, terrorists carried out twin assaults on Iran’s parliament and the Mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini. The ISIS Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the assaults. Iranian security forces have arrested nearly 100 terrorists since after the rare attack on the capital.
