YAF Launches Immediate Maritime Blockade Against Saudi Arabia

ALWAGHT- Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the YAF, said an immediate maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia is now in force.

Yemen's Armed Forces announced an immediate maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia, saying the measure was a response to what they described as nearly 12 years of blockade and military aggression, including restrictions on Yemeni ports, airports, and Sanaa International Airport. Military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the move reflected public demands under the "blockade for blockade" policy.

Saree said Yemen was prepared for all possible scenarios and warned that any further escalation by Saudi Arabia would be met with a stronger response. He also called for continued public mobilization and pledged to pursue efforts to end the blockade imposed on Yemen.

Separately, Mohammed Abdulsalam, head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, said the maritime ban was imposed after Saudi Arabia failed to lift the blockade despite repeated opportunities. He argued that Riyadh would bear responsibility for any further escalation, while recent mass demonstrations across Yemen voiced support for stronger measures against the Saudi-led restrictions.
