ALWAGHT- Israeli aerial and ground offensives across the Gaza Strip have left at least 91 Palestinians dead, marking another escalation in the ongoing conflict.
Israeli attacks on Gaza City left at least 76 people dead on Saturday, as part of an intensified offensive to seize the largest city in the territory. Strikes hit residential homes, schools used as shelters, tents for displaced families, and even a truck carrying civilians fleeing the city, killing at least four people.
One of the deadliest strikes targeted the family home of Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital, killing five relatives, including his brother, sister-in-law, and their children. Abu Salmiya, who was working in the hospital’s emergency ward, described the devastation of seeing his loved ones among the victims. Hamas condemned the attack as a deliberate attempt to intimidate doctors and undermine Gaza’s collapsing medical system.
According to Hamas, Israeli forces have killed around 1,700 health workers and detained 400 more since the war began in October 2023. Despite massive civilian casualties—over 65,000 killed, mostly women and children, and more than 166,000 injured—Israel has failed to achieve its stated objectives of defeating Hamas and rescuing captives. Meanwhile, Gaza faces famine conditions as humanitarian aid remains blocked.
