Tehran Accuses US, Israel of Fueling Unending Regional Conflicts

ALWAGHT- According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, Israel and the US have shown no intention of fostering peace or stability, but rather seek to entangle the region in ongoing wars.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned Israel’s missile strike on a residential area in Doha on September 9, which targeted Hamas leaders during ceasefire talks. While senior Hamas figures survived, the attack killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. Baghaei warned that the aggression would force regional states to rethink their security policies, stressing that Israel’s history of operations shows no country is safe from its actions, not even beyond the Islamic world.

He accused the United States of complicity, saying the strike was unlikely to have occurred without US coordination and support. According to Baghaei, targeting Qatar—host of Gaza ceasefire discussions—exposed that Washington and Tel Aviv have no genuine interest in regional peace but rather seek to entangle the Middle East in endless wars for their own benefit. He urged regional states to take independent action to strengthen security and resist Israeli aggression, while also criticizing normalization with Israel as “normalizing crime and terrorism.”

Baghaei added that global opposition to Israel is growing, with campaigns in Europe pushing for sanctions, boycotts, and restrictions on Israeli athletes. He reiterated Iran’s call for a regional security framework, sometimes described as an “Islamic NATO,” noting that countries increasingly view Israel as the most serious threat. He emphasized that Iran is committed to helping establish a self-reliant security order in West Asia through cooperation among regional partners, without dependence on external powers.
