ALWAGHT- The head of Iran’s nuclear program vowed that the Islamic Republic will resist excessive pressure from influential powers regarding its civilian nuclear activities.
Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), emphasized at a National Journalist Day ceremony in Tehran that Iran will not yield to Western pressure or double standards aimed at hindering its peaceful nuclear program. He described these attempts as part of a broader hegemonic system that seeks to deny Iran access to advanced scientific and nuclear technologies.
Eslami cited recent attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities by the US and Israel, which occurred after an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution he called baseless. He argued that such actions and unfounded claims aim to obstruct Iran’s scientific progress while highlighting the West’s selective criticism, noting that Israel’s nuclear activities face no such scrutiny despite its non-membership in the NPT or IAEA safeguards.
The official called on the UN nuclear watchdog to condemn the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and stressed the need for continued national vigilance. AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi echoed this, urging the Iranian nation to remain alert until all threats to its nuclear program are fully removed.
