Alwaght- Amid increased tension with EU member countries, Turkey sealed off Dutch embassy and consulate in Ankara.
The tension increased when the Netherlands did not allow the airliner carrying Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to land in the country.
"Entry to and exit from the Dutch embassy in Ankara and the consulate in Istanbul have been closed for security reasons," said Turkish foreign ministry sources on Saturday.
"The residences of the embassy's charge d'affaires and the chief consul were also subjected to the same treatment," they added.
Supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gathered in front of the embassy building to protest the move by Amsterdam.
Dutch government said the disallowance was a measure to prevent a possible divergence among Turkish refugees in their country.
Dutch police also detained Turkish Family and Social Affairs Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya on late Saturday to deport her to Germany after declaring her "undesirable alien."
She was scheduled to address a Rotterdam rally in support of the Turkish president. Police later used horseback charges to break up a pro-Turkey crowd that had gathered at the country’s consulate in the city.
In reaction, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced that it does not want the Dutch ambassador to Turkey to return "for some time."
"We do not want the Dutch ambassador, currently on leave, to return to his post for some time. It has been explained to our counterparts that this grave decision taken against Turkey and the Dutch Turkish community will cause serious problems diplomatically, politically, economically and in other areas," it added.
