Syria's government forces have been repulsing numerous attacks of the Jaish al-Fatah militant group outlawed in Russia in Aleppo's northern suburbs for two days in a row, Sputnik reported.
An officer of the Syrian army said that the terrorists were bearing significant losses.
According to the Syrian military, the army has managed to regain control over part of the territory seized by the terrorists. Foreign militants, including citizens of Turkey, Arab countries and other states, have been taking part in the offensive that started on Wednesday.
Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011.
The United Nation’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict. The UN stopped its official casualty count in Syria more than two years ago, citing its increasing inability to verify the figures it received.
